Equal Sight Line or Dummy sash windows are basically panels which are fixed panes, that are not meant to open, but seem as if they are openers when viewed from outside. Although all the windows look as if they open only the ones with handles open.

Generally, equal sight lines look more appealing, however they would also reduce the amount of area that lets in light. Please take both points into consideration when making a decision.
